“The person I most admire is my grandfather, Jack Morgan Pierpont. I admire Jack because he taught me so many wonderful lessons. Jack taught me that every day you are alive is a gift. He taught me to stay away from golfing too much because it would take too much time from productive things that a business owner needs to do. And my grandfather taught me to love cooking, fishing and the importance of family.”

Youth Mentoring Gives Kids-And Adults- Someone to Admire by Catherine Woods of Mobulls in West Plains, Missouri
Youth mentoring provides kids with someone to look up to, and can provide adults who become a coach with some much needed fulfillment. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has realized incredible results with their volunteer youth mentoring program. According to their research, kids involved in the program are 52% less likely to skip school, 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs, 27 percent less likely to start drinking, and more likely to get along with their families and peers. And adults also benefit from the program- they can learn a lot from the children, who often are trying to overcome a lot of adversity and obstacles. There’s never been a better time to decide to become a coach, with large numbers of children on waitlists, waiting for a youth mentor to be assigned to them.
