Greatest Places to Get Married

Million of people are married each year. If you’ve attended any one of these marriages, chances are that the wedding was held in the function room of a hotel, banquet facility or perhaps even in your or your parent’s backyard. Doesn’t it seem that each function room is the same?

We thought that there have to be more exciting places in the world to be married other than a function room so we set out and asked our guest contributors, the ones that have visited these exotic, unusual and cool destinations, to advise us on the most interesting places in the world to get married.

For couples that are adventurous and love the outdoors, we offer you cool outdoor places to get married like Yosemite national park, Vermont during the Fall foliage season, Santa Fe and Marigot.

For the tried and true romantics, we offer you Provence, the French Riviera and the Loire Valley in France in addition to Tuscany, Venice and Florence in Italy. But, we amaze with our selection of Inverlochy Castle in Scotland and a beach wedding in Costa Rica.

If you’re interested in exotic wedding destinations, read up on Santorini, Skibo Castle in Scotland or the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego.

If you want to make a statement and it’s the unusual and unique wedding you’re looking for, try Belize, Cyprus and, yes, Casablanca.

Finally, most couples opt for the Summer to get married. It’s warmer and it makes it a bit more convenient for travel and an outdoor wedding reception. However, we give you three enticing reasons to buck the norm and choose Winter for your wedding season: Lake Tahoe, Hedingham Castle in East Anglia, and Crested Butte in Colorado.

Travel Tips

Be smart when you travel. Guard your valuables securely and don’t advertise them to pickpockets. The best way to do this is to buy a travel money belt. We bought one from, a manufacturer of men’s wallets and women’s wallets. They also produce some nice travel accessories. The travel money belt is inexpensive, like their wallets, but also produced of high quality soft nylon that doesn’t stick to your body and thus doesn’t produce beaded sweat like all the other money belts we’ve tried. It’s perfectly sized and has just enough pockets to fit just about any item you might want to carry with you as you hike Yosemite, walk the cobblestone streets of Provence or the beaches of Bali. We were very happy with the money belt.
